Love the water and wish to learn about a fun swim board? Tried everything in swim fitness except for the new and innovative board called the EZ Swimmer?

Swim fitness is more than just your Grandmother's water aerobics. Swim fitness can mean different things to different people and different levels of expertise. To the elite, swim fitness may mean swimming laps in full immersion with no buoyant tools. To others it may mean adding in buoyant equipment for greater resistance. To some, swim fitness may mean aquatic kick boxing for for the dance enthusiasts it many mean Zumba. To me, the very best of swim fitness is resistance training in the water. Similar to Pilates on land with a 3 lbs weight, resistance training in the water is using your own body weight and added buoyant fitness tool that adds to your workout.

The innovative swim board offers many different movements, from Cuddle Core to Seated Balance to Push Downs to many more. One of my personal favorites I would like to share with you is the sea horse aka Seated Balance in the fitness world.

Imagine riding a sea horse in your swimming pool. Let me take you through the steps, show you visually the correct body position and give you some tips to make this board sport simpler and more fun.

2. pastime: an active pastime participated in for pleasure or exercise
3. somebody cheerful: somebody who remains cheerful when losing or in an unpleasant situation

Recreational Fun - Fun Swim Board - EZ Swimmer

To the inventor, who happens to be the author, the highest best use of this closed cell board is fitness. Yet, the fact remains it is simply fun. Cuddle core is much more fun than a kick board, the sea horse is loved by those who are able to master it and finally tricep dips clearly target tone that hard to reach muscle group but yet the water makes all this fitness movement pure fun.

Is the EZ Swimmer More than a Fun Swim Board - Is It a Sport?

Since it is not a competitive sport, the EZ Swimmer might fall into the category of recreational sport. Recreational sports is often denoted by amusement. This small ergonomic body board is certainly amusing and fun. Riding the sea horse is challenging and has left many of my clients and myself bucked into the water by not managing the buoyancy beneath us.

Advanced Movement - Seated Balance aka Sea Horse

Let's take the advance movement as an example, the Seated Balance or a balance ball in the water. Essentially, if conquered and it is challenging, the water saddle turns into a sea horse where you can ride the buoyant fitness tool.

Look at the diagram at the right and you will see when you have your core muscles engaged and when you are engaging your back muscles.

Simple strategy - if your knees are not below your waist, more than likely you are engaging your back muscles for your stability.

Biased Viewpoint - I Am The Inventor

I am the inventor and very biased on this sport but I appreciate you taking the time to listen to my first sporting love.

I love the water and I love being in the water, yet I like the comfort and the challenge of partnering with a buoyant device. It is softer and stronger than any aquatic noodle. It is very happy in the water as I am. Yes, it is ugly on land but you would look like a fish out of water, if you were designed for the water too! Oh, yes, that is right, fish are pretty ugly out on land too.

To me, the EZ Swimmer is my beautiful blue baby but is a baby that only does well with you in the water. It was made and designed to be a great swimming pool companion.

Aquatics Background

While I love the water, I have many friends who have lost children and siblings to the water. I urge you to always swim with others. If you look on my website, there is a huge price reduction for buying two - for the simple reason I want you to swim with a friend. It is more fun and always safer. Keep a cell phone handy by the poolside. And when swimming in open water, always have a tether or be withing several feet of land.

Often I am asked how I could have developed such as complicated board that actually works. It wasn't me solely - I simply am the team leader who kept pushing and putting the various pieces in place. I hunted for years for the biomedical engineer who could design the curves. I knew of the company who could produce it and knew they would be the only one in the world who could, yet I hunted for years to confirm and asked them last. They not only agreed they helped find the mold producer at a competitive cost.

I developed the product with the view of the highest and best use - the fitness industry. I took the tool to the water aerobics professionals and they made product suggestions that I incorporated. I was in production and then test the product with instructors in the fitness industry who reported that they needed clear instructions on the best and proper use. So I listened and went back to school and obtained my personal trainer and group fitness certification. Teachers in my opinion must "do" before they instruct so after I obtained my certifications I instructed for several years both as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Long story short, I am relaunching the ezswimmer website this week complete with instructional articles (that I developed while here on HubPages) and with videos. There is still allot that I would like to do but feel I have sufficient material to relaunch with instructions. There is an achievement program that I have developed to assist in the training complete with achievement pins for the instructor and the end user.
