Creating colorful breakout capsules in Hub Pages and/or for public presentations is very simple and easy! Power Point gives us all the tools right at our finger tips.

The features include fonts and colors and even graphics and clip art. Photos captured from the Internet can be inserted (be sure to follow the copyright laws carefully - intellectual property protection is important to all of us).

What is a Jpeg? Simply stated it is a file that is purely an image. It may hold content but the Internet sees it simply as an image.

Storing JPEGS on your blogs or your hubs or your website needs to have what are termed "tags", these are simply a verbal index of what your JPEG is about.

Imagine placing millions of photos in your file cabinet and you want to retrieve that file. The tags allow you to categorize or capture the type of file.

Do take the time with your photos to think about an effective description and most appropriate tags. Remember the internet is literally blind, you must describe the photo / image to the web crawlers in order for the image to be recognized.

Most people are visual learners. We love images. Photographs are perhaps the best image to add to your content out on the Internet. Yet there are times when you want an image to showcase a special quote, a special rule, or a caution.

Images are all about space and proportion.

Separating your ideas for your reader to quickly follow your train of thought is critical.

Nowadays, you are seeing allot of horizontal lines. The best sources for horizontal lines, royalty free images are educational sites. The image search term is "horizontal line".

Can you make a horizontal line in Power Point? Absolutely. I have done this several times. I am not very good at it because to shrink it to the size I prefer I use Paint and I am very clumsy with Paint. I have found searching for the educational sites for some standard images is much simpler and quicker. It is all about working smart and those educational sites have allot to offer.

From posters to photographs, beyond horizontal lines, there are time when you have a desire or need to create the customized image yourself.

Want to drive an important point home? Create an image of your message. It is simple with Power Point - even if you have no formal training in graphic arts.

Free Power Point software for Power Point is available as a download right on line. If you have a Windows Live account, you are able to create, modify and share PowerPoint documents. The different versions of PowerPoint do make a difference in your capabilities. The above visuals were created with PowerPoint 2007. 2003 is a workable version but many of the visual features especially for creating jpgs are simply missing. The differences are noticeable and highly recommended if you are creating more than one presentation per month or more than one jpg per month.

• Use Large Fonts. See how point size 60 appears in the side bar photo capsule - it is legible. From font to size, the size needs will change. Experiment first - don't waste your time on a font that is not clear and not large enough to make the impact you desire.
• Bold is Beautiful - adds emphasis.
• The added clip art is fun and easy - spend some time and see what is useful to your needs.
• The templates from other sources such as NIU's Genie Ware Templates are a must for professional presentations. Great source - completely free.
• Overlay text on top of a colorful photo such as the beautiful blue sail with the #1 gives a very professional and yet memorable impression to the viewer.

I know there are other great image creation and manipulation software out in the marketplace. The item I like is the convenience. I have used Power Point so often and find it familiar. I like knowing what I am doing and keeping things simple.

Yes, I must go to Paint occasionally and quite frankly it frustrated me to no end. Can I avoid Paint? Probably not.

The best software of course is a full blown program such as Professional PhotoShop but this is a separate program and many people such as me must pay separately for this program.

Important note, if you are a teacher, a student, there are special licenses that you can purchase at much reduced rates. This is highly recommended because it can save you a bundle. That is the one perk as a professor I really miss.
