Hot! Rod Stewart! Since 1969 and Still Hot!

Considered by many to be the greatest white soul singer of all-time, Rod Stewart sets out to prove it with his latest release "Soulbook " which takes the great sounds of soul and gives them the Stewart treatment. Journey with me as he reveals in his interview with Mary Hart from ET! some of his beliefs. Just as Stewart revives these great songs, so too did he undergo his own revival. Forever Young sums up this incredible singer’s career!

Stewart is 64. Instead of slowing down, he is preparing for another tour. He even took time to sing one of the cuts from “Soulbook” on Dancing With The Stars. Music has always been his “real baby” but he confessed that he is working on child number 7 only to state that the office will officially close after child number 7!

In October Stewart released a new album entitled "Soulbook". The album includes Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.

Stewart confided in a recent interview that he felt truly humbled with the caliber of talent that collaborated on this album with him.

In fact, he went on to say it was rather scary to record with these phenomenal artists who are a huge part of the "tapestry of his life".

JAMES BROWN: "ROD STEWART IS THE BEST WHITE SOUL SINGER IN THE WORLD" James Brown said that Rod Stewart is the "best white soul singer in the world". Stewart stated that this is the greatest compliments he has ever had.

THE LEGACY – THE RECORDS/ALBUMS/SINGLES SOLD Stewart's four volumes in the "Great American Songbook" series have sold a staggering 8.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

To date, Mary Hart reported he has sold over 250 million albums and singles! Wow! That is a lot of records!

I found it interesting the debate that apparently took place in order to choose or pare down to only 13 Songs.

He jokingly stated he took advise from everyone and didn't listen to them! Stewart stated simply that “part of the process is the argument".

The problem was the volume of work available, there is a "whole wealth of material" so the process of only choosing 13 songs was daunting.

He is 64 and thrilled still to be in the business. He is working on a tour. He loves live performances - not the traveling but the audiences.

The business is so different now, he states, it doesn’t take a lot to sell a lot of records. It has changed dramatically over the past 3 years, even over the past 6 months.

"I want to go out at the top, but the secret is knowing when you`re at the top, it`s so difficult in this business, your career fluctuates all the time, up and down, like a pair of trousers." Rod Stewart remains hot at 64 and his new album "Soulbook" is just as promising.

In a recent interview Rod Stewart visits with Mary Hart, sings a duet with her, and invites her into his family room where he creates his music.

In 2007, Scottish-British rock star Rod Stewart married Penny Lancaster in a low-key civil ceremony in a on Italy's Ligurian coast with only Lancaster's parents as witnesses.

Stewart, 64 and Lancaster, 38, have been together since the break-up of Stewart's second marriage in 1998.

Rod Stewart hired the yacht after his wedding to Penny Lancaster in 2007.

The 163 foot long mega yacht boasts a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and water toys including a sailboat.

The yacht was launched by the Italian shipyard, Codecasa in 2001 and has a cruising speed of 16 knots.

As of February 2009 Lady Ann Magee for sale.The listing says that the owner of Lady Ann Magee has a 65 meter (213 foot) yacht launching in 2009.

It should be no surprise that Rod Stewart is fun loving - very self-evident from his music and his whimsical hair. What is surprising is his love for model trains. In his Beverly Hills mansion, he has constructed a 1:87-scale version of New York's Grand Central Station in the 1940's. The train set boasts 100 feet of track, locomotives, skyscrapers, along with period correct advertisements and miniature passengers in time appropriate hats and coats. And it measure 124 feet long by 23 feet in width!

Life has interesting turns. In an interview with Larry King, he reported that his Dad gave him a guitar with the exact words of "'Son, I think there might be some money in this.'" Stewart confided to Larry King: "I actually wanted a railway station for my model railway. I was 13 or 14, maybe at the time. He bought me a guitar and the rest is history."
