82It is that time of year when we start asking our loved ones what they like and don't like. When I was the high overachiever in my youth long ago, my holiday shopping was done faithfully during the summer. My goal was to purchase everything have it all completely paid for by Halloween. I wanted nothing to do with the rush during the winter season. I didn't want the financial burden on my credit cards or the surprise of a big invoice in the month of January on my credit card statement.
The wrapping was and perhaps always will be the last minute item but the gifts were purchased way ahead of time - purchased with much thought and care.
I took special pride in buying for my office. In recent years, online shopping has been my mainstay. Without the lines at the stores, I can now shop online quicker and easier and later in the year. I love seeing the new gift options and hunting for the perfect gift.
Buying online allows great price comparisons. Buying online saves the hassle of the lines at the stores. Buying online allows to see what other countries have to offer also. Yes, I fell in love with the James Bond like luggage tag from overseas - so sleek, so cool, very high end.

Last holiday season, we gave friends and family a breakfast basket of gourmet bacon from Nueske's. The gift was extremely well receive. Additionally, we did not have to wrap, all we had to do was phone and give the gift recipient's addresses.
This last year, we gave gourmet cheeses in a wooden box from a local cheese shop here in Wisconsin. Again, the gift recipients were thrilled. Each box included a selection of wonderful cheeses including goat cheese from Spain and several Wisconsin varieties.

This was my first real season online and I am very pleased with what I have learned and where I am headed. Categorizing is a favorite past time of mine. I just cannot handle it when I cannot find something - hope this helps others too.
