73My Personal Back Story on Pino
Pino is an Italian artist I found several years ago in an exclusive restaurant in Rockford, Illinois. The restaurant is known for its antiques and decor. In the lobby for example is a fountain from France complete with the water flowing! Many a coin I have dropped in the fountain for a wish and dream yet to come true!
One of the paintings in that restaurant I was especially fond of - it was a young women with a little girl resting on her lap. This is a similar theme of this famous painter. As I have shown here, Pino's work is rich in family values and celebration of women and beautiful bodies.

Pino was born on November 8, 1939 as "Giuseppe Dangelico" in Bari, Italy and is now know as Pino Daeni or commonly simply as "Pino".

My View of the Pino Art Collection
What I love about Pino's work is the warmth and love of the family and the vibrant colors. Additionally, many of Pino's work use the backdrop of the Mediterranean and I adore beaches. Beaches are God's blessing to all of us. The depth and beauty of the beach and the animals above and below.
The paintings of Pino which are suggestive are created with the aura of romance and complete devotion and love. The painting of the back of the neck, I am told is extremely erotic in the far eastern worlds. All of Pino's paintings celebrate beauty - that is what I love the most.
One of Pino's paintings is especially striking to me and I would love to know the full story behind it - whether it was commissioned or how Pino came to create a masterpiece with simple pink peonies. My grandmother's peonies never looked so radiant.
Perhaps that is best word for Pino's paintings is radiant. The rooms are radiant, the settings are radiant, the women are radiant.
Pino in his biography is said to have been "heavily influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and Macchiajoli. I will have to research this or ask the art expert James Watkins. My art history is weak having been away for 3 decades!
The early career of Pino was as an illustrator principally for Dell and Zebra Book Publishers. Later other large publishers such as "Bantam, Simon, and Schuster, Harlequin, Penquin USA and Dell" have actively sought him out.
"To date, Pino has illustrated 3,000 books; his style has dominated the market."
Painting - Back Stories
Sadly I have no back stories on any of the paintings. I know visits to his home are offered and high sought after and well attended. If anyone has history or personal insights to share - special commissions, etc...we would love to hear these stories.

Pino is one of my favorite artists too. So expressive and her amazing use of colors. I really enjoyed the videos too. Great hub!
Pino died May 25, 2010, his obituary stated cause of death was cancer. Sadly he left us at age 70. I don't know the type of cancer he had but I do know too many people have been taken too soon with this disease.
Pino left us a great legacy. While his books - 3000 of them are of no interest to me, I literally have three rooms that brighten my daily life thanks to the artful creations of Pino.
You nailed it - it is the colors that I love. I want a painting that means something and that is reflective of the vibrant colors that I adore in my garden.
